the center for social risk assessment in china is a university-level research institute established by tsinghua in 2016. the center tackles the governance of social risk by leveraging the strengths of faculty research in the areas of management, political science, sociology, law, and economics from both the school of public policy and management and the center for crisis management research at tsinghua university.
as a newly created national think tank, the center brings together academics and practitioners from around the whole china and the world to enhance research, teaching, and training on risk governance issues of critical importance in society. since the foundation, the center has launched research initiatives linking innovative governance to national major social challenges including social stability, national security, anti-terrorism, xinfang (public complains and proposals), and social risk assessment.
